Abstract

Background:
There is no Korean products of automatic urine analyzer so far. RecentlyYeongdong pharmaceutical company has developed URISCAN S-300 employing charge-coupled-device (CCD) which is highly sensitive than light-emitting diode (LED) sensor. We
evaluated
the analytical performance of URISCAN S-300 and Uriscan Strip in the aspects of precision, accuracy, linearity and correlation with two other urine analyzers.
Methods:
We evaluated the precisions of within-run, between-run and day to day Two quality control materials (Bio Rad and Yeongdong's) and 106 patients samples were used for evaluation.
Results:
The imprecisions of within-run urinalysis were ranged 0/60 to 7/60, those of between-run precisions 0% to 5 % and those of day-to-day 0% to 10% in ketones. Linearity was good and the correlations with the foreign reagents and instruments were
very
good except specific gravity.
Conclusions:
The newly developed Yeongdong's urine analyzer URISCAN S-300 and URISCAN strip disclosed good performance.
